Problem

Homeowner reported intermittent staining on a kitchen ceiling below a relatively new single-storey extension flat roof. Two prior “reseal” attempts failed.

Solution

Electronic and thermal survey isolated membrane lap failure and inadequate upstand height at the abutment. Specification: strip to deck where compromised, new OSB where delaminated, GRP system with formed upstands and drip edge.

Materials

• GRP laminate with topcoat matched to existing grey
• Roofline trim and vented fascia detail for continuity with main house
